LEIGH CAPPILLINO IN CONCERT THIS MORNING Leigh is Bob and Robin Darby’s daughter. She joined Point of Grace, one of the top Christian music groups in America, in 2004 when one of the original three ladies left the group. They have to their credit 14 albums which have sold over five million copies, 9 Dove Awards, two Grammy awards, 8 books, and two platinum and five gold records as well as 27 consecutive No. 1's. Dana, Leigh’s husband is their manager. Point of Grace is not just another singing group. They have a mission of helping teenage girls. In 2002 they initiated the Girls of Grace project. A devotional book, a workbook, a journal and an album came out first, followed by yearly Girls of Grace conferences. They also support Mercy Ministries of America and Compassion International. We are delighted to have her and Dana with us today.

Holiday Service Schedule There will no evening services today or Wednesday the 31st.

Men’s Conference Our bus will be going to the 17th Annual Men’s Conference at FBC Woodstock February 6-7. Cost includes the conference fee, a steak dinner, and motel. This is a great conference which draws around 5,000 men. There is a sign-up list at the information center.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STONES Chris and Danna are the proud parents of Bailey Allison who was born around 4:15 Pm last Monday. She weighed 6lbs 9 oz. Proud grandparents are Jimmy and Diane Andrews.

C.A.R.E. MINISTRY ADJUSTMENT We are asking members to sign up for 6 months for our Spring/Summer session of CARE teams. Won’t you consider giving just one hour a month (that’s only 6 hours) to either write letters and cards or call or visit our members and community friends? We are conducting CARE on a new night, Thursday, but at the same time, 7 PM, and beginning on January 11 with the C and A teams. Contact Ricardo if you would like to serve.

Offering Envelopes for 2009 are in the Fellowship Hall in alphabetical order.  Please pick your box up today.  Anyone who previously had a number over 200 has been assigned a new number.  Please discard envelopes with your old numbers on them.

A Word From Our Pastor

The Reflections for the Prelude

“Every plant must have both soil and root. Without both of these there can be no life, no growth, no fruit. The root is ‘peace with God’; the soil in which that root strikes itself, and out of which it draws the vital sap, is the free love of God in Christ. ‘Rooted in love’ is the apostle’s description of a holy man. The secret of a believer’s holy walk is his continual recurrence to the blood of the Surety, and his daily intercourse with a crucified and risen Lord. All divine life, and all the

precious fruits of it, pardon, peace, and holiness, spring from the cross...”

-- Horatius Bonar

“Peace is not always expressed as quiet and calm... often it is a joyful

response to the blessed assurance that the battle has already been fought, the victory already won, and eternity reserved.”

-- D. Kevin

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace...”

-- Ephesians 2:13-14
