OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PAGEANT This evening at 6:00PM our Celebration Choir and pageant cast will present a beautiful time of worship as we rejoice in the birth of the only Savior of the world, our Savior, Master, and soon-coming King. Realizing that many other churches are having their programs this evening, we urge you to invite your families and friends to join us for this memorable evening.
BUSINESS MEETING We will have another business meeting in the evening service on December 21 to hear a report from the Nominating Committee.
LEIGH CAPPILLINO IN CONCERT Sunday evening, December 28, Leigh, Bob and Robin Darby’s daughter, will be with us. Leigh joined Point of Grace, one of the top Christian music groups in America, in 2004 when one of the original three ladies left the group. They have to their credit 14 albums which have sold over five million copies, 9 Dove Awards, two Grammy awards, 8 books, and two platinum and five gold records as well as 27 consecutive No. 1's. Dana Cappillino, Leigh’s husband is their manager. Point of Grace is not just another singing group. They have a mission of helping teenage girls. In 2002 they initiated the Girls of Grace project. A devotional book, a workbook, a journal and an album came out first, followed by yearly Girls of Grace conferences. They also support Mercy Ministries of America and Compassion International.
YOUNG-AT-HEART OPRYLAND TRIP Please pray for our group as we leave for Nashville this Wednesday morning. We look forward to a great trip together. We will be returning on Saturday evening.
The Widow’s Mite: Thank you for your response to continuing the Widow’s Mite 2009. We have had another opportunity just recently to help even another family with children during this time of the year when everything seems to hit us the hardest. Except for your wonderful generosity this would not have been possible. Can we count on your help to make this happen yet another year? We need to have your response back to one of the WMU Committee Members no later than December 21st if we are to be able to start assistance by the first of January to the families that we helped this year. The WMU Members: Gail Campbell, Janet Williamson, Becky Boyles, Jean Martin, Irene Dixon, Faye King, Janice Cooley, Jo Major, Ardith Oakes.

| A Word From Our Pastor |

During the Great Depression, George Beverly Shea was offered a career in popular music. But an inner voice whispered a greater purpose. The answer came in a poem Shea later set to music, I’d Rather Have Jesus. As we face one of the most difficult economic challenges since the Depression, this hymn reminds us that choosing Christ “rather … than silver or gold” is the most reliable investment advice we will ever find. As markets fluctuate, Christ is a solid rock. Another line sings of favoring “His dear cause” over worldliness. Just as Shea has stayed faithful to glorify God in song around the globe, Southern Baptists have long been faithful to give time and money to help accomplish the worldwide missionary task. Economic uncertainty affects your families and your church. It also affects every missionary family on the field. Their work cannot go forward without your continued sacrificial giving. May God bless you in your ever-faithful obedience to our Great Commission task.
