WE AFFIRM THE "SOLAS" OF THE PROTESTANT

REFORMATION

 

Sola Scriptura:  The Bible is the sole written divine revelation and alone can bind the conscience of believers absolutely.

 

Sola Fide:Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God, by which our sins are remitted

 

Sola Christus: Christ is the sole mediator through Whose work we are redeemed.

 

Sola Gratia: Our salvation rests solely on the work of God’s grace for us.

 

Sola Deo Gloria: To God alone belongs all the glory.

HOW MAY I BECOME A MEMBER OF SBC?

 

1. You must be a born-again believer, having confessed your personal faith in the saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. You must be or have been baptized by immersion.

3. You must have completed our four-hour Discovery Class, offered at least once each quarter, and be in agreement with our Confession of Doctrine, Constitution, and Covenant.

You may at the conclusion of any service come forward and request Watchcare Membership until the above requirements have been met.

Under Watchcare Membership you will have one year to complete the requirements.

Under Watchcare Membership you will have all the privileges of Regular Membership, with the exception of voting on official business and holding office.

Upon completion of requirements you are eligible to be presented to the congregation for Regular Membership on Membership Sunday, which is observed once each quarter.

Note: We do not ask anyone to join. However, we joyfully welcome all who are convinced that this is the church where God will have them serve in building His Kingdom.
